Take It All Away

So, I realize it's been awhile since I have posted anything. I apologize for that, but RA training has been pretty intensive and I've been doing some work at AE on top of that. Damn, I love that place. Anyway, stuff has been going well with the band. You may start to look for us to play at home soccer games. We've been asked to at least. I'll keep you updated. I actually have some stuff to go do ... freshmen move in tomorrow, but I will hit this up soon. Promise.

Yeah, so tomorrow we're playing the State Fair. I'm pumped, Dougie seems pumped and when I told Hornor exactly how big of a deal this is gonna be, HE was pumped. It's gonna be a good time and hopefully a good show. We're gonna be in the Special Events Tent which is by the Ethnic Village and Twilight Ballroom. Gonna be an early morning since we play at 10. That means load-in will be approximately 8:15 am. Early Early Early. Oh well, it should be great. I'm looking forward to rocking with the guys. It'll be fun. I'm gonna make this short because I have a lot to get done today before the Fair. Peace.

New Miserable Experience

Hey all, I hope this Tuesday is treating everyone well. I am beat ... completely spent. Working two jobs is starting to take it's toll, but I'm almost down with one of them, so then it will be just AE. I love working at that place. It's such good times ... I usually leave that place all hyper. Last night was not the case however, due to the fact that we were tired from hanging with Scotty from the Gin Blossoms the night before. It's funny, but I am still fairly pumped from that experience. They used to be one of the bands I rocked out to and learned how to play their songs when I first started playing guitar. Too bad I've forgotten them all. However, it has gotten me totally pumpedto play the State Fair. Once again, I've got a huge fire under my arse to play and write and just perform. I love that so much ... Anyway, just wanted to throw in an update. I can't wait for the guys to get in Thursday night so we can rehearse before the show. They've got the apartment across the hall from me to live in for the night, so it'll be sweet to have them all around. We are luckily gonna use a Milli-van to haul the gear and there's gonna be a sound guy running the mix, so it'll definitely be the biggest show I've played yet. I'm excited. Peace. Love. Gin Blossoms.

This probably won't be that long of an entry. Maybe it will. Who knows? Basically, last night was fun. I worked at AE from 12-6ish and then went down to the Celebration to see the Gin Blossoms. I got backstage and got to meet the band and then went out to their hotel's bar with the lead guitarist. He was pretty cool, very nice. He talked a lot, asked about my band, signed autographs, and hit on my friend. Ten years ago it would have been the shit to say I hung out with the Gin Blossoms, but not so much now. Still I enjoyed it. I love 90's college band rock from dudes that wanted to be hippies. Great stuff. So it was worth it. Now I am just getting stuff ready to play the State Fair on Friday. Gonna start doing run throughs of songs, making lead sheets for the band and restringing all the guitars. I'm pumped. A couple of my friends last night expressed interest in managing and marketing my band and whatnot. That would be huge. They just want to do it because they love music and the scene and want to help me out. I'd love that. Been reading web journals alot. I read Walzer's today, trying to catch up. I am totally envious about leadership school. That would be such a great experience. I can't wait for the guys to come back. I miss those cats. Probably need to get ahold of Sheppy too, cuase we haven't kicked it for a while and I miss hanging with the Big Bro. Luckily, he'll be living right down the street from me. I'm pumped. Anyway, I'm gonna get going. I'm making a To Do list of shit for the fair. I'll get 'er done.

Note to Self: Stop Swearing So Much
